Catdoku

Catdoku turns Sudoku into a cute cat puzzle with colorful regions and a unique rule that keeps cats apart. Use logic to place every cat correctly.

What Is Catdoku?

Catdoku is a cozy logic puzzle inspired by Sudoku, but numbers are replaced with cute cats and colorful regions. Your goal is to place every cat correctly by using three connected rules: color, rows and columns, and the unique Aloof Rule.

Catdoku Rules

Every puzzle follows three simple rules that help you eliminate impossible positions

  • One Cat Per Color: Each colored region can contain only one cat.
  • One Cat Per Row & Column: Every row and column must contain exactly one cat.
  • Aloof Rule: Cats cannot touch each other, including diagonally adjacent cells.
  • The challenge comes from combining these rules. Placing one cat can immediately remove several possible positions elsewhere on the board.

How To Play

  • Click once: Mark an empty cell with an X when you know a cat cannot go there.
  • Double-click: Place a cat in the cell you believe is correct.
  • Click again: Remove a mark or placement when you need to change your decision.
  • Use Hint or Reveal: Get extra help when you cannot determine the next move.

Smart Solving Tips

Start With Smaller Regions

Check colored regions with fewer available cells first. They give you fewer possibilities and can reveal a forced position more quickly.

Mark Every Exclusion

After placing a cat, check its entire row, column, color region, and surrounding cells. Mark positions that are no longer possible to keep the board organized.

Recheck After Each Cat

One correct placement can create new clues across the board. Scan the affected rows, columns, and regions again before making your next move.

Why Catdoku Feels Different

Catdoku keeps the logical deduction of Sudoku while adding colorful regions and the Aloof Rule. Because cats must stay apart, each placement affects not only its row and column but also the surrounding cells.
