Word Ferret is an addictive online word game that tests your vocabulary, speed, and creativity. The objective is simple: find as many words as possible within a limited time. Each word earns points, with longer words yielding higher scores, creating a perfect mix of strategy, quick thinking, and wordplay. Enjoy!

Gameplay Overview

The game begins by selecting a room, each with its own rules and grid layout:

• GREEN Room: 5×5 letter grid, words of four letters or more, three-minute rounds.
• GOLD Room: 6×6 grid; words must be five letters or longer; includes Unique Mode, where only words no other player has found earn points.

Rounds are continuous, with a 30-second break between each. In Non-Unique Mode, the leaderboard updates every 30 seconds, while Unique Mode updates instantly when duplicate words are found.

Players form words by connecting adjacent letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Each letter can only be used once per word. Words can be entered in multiple ways:

• Drag your mouse or finger across the letters
• Use Tap Mode to click each letter individually
• Type words directly into the input field

Only words recognized in Word Ferret’s dictionary of approximately 82,000 entries are accepted. Proper nouns are not allowed, but plurals are valid. Spotting an “S” can help create high-scoring words quickly.
